Helsey House Holiday Cottages especially welcome families with special needs.
As parents of children on the Autistic Spectrum we understand the difficulties in planning a family holiday. We welcome families with special needs like autism or any other disability. We also cater for wheelchair users or those with other mobility difficulties. We have a Level 1 Certificate with the National Accessible Scheme in The Dairy. If you require extra care whilst on holiday we can arrange a carer package for you during your stay.
A variety of aids and equipment are available for guests if needed to make their stay more comfortable. We have a manual wheelchair, shower wheelchair, toilet seat raiser, bed raisers and cot sides. Please ask when your booking.
Helsey House Cottages can be found in the private grounds of Helsey House in the quiet hamlet of Helsey near Hogsthorpe on the Lincolnshire coast. We are 5 minutes from Chapel St Leonards and 15 minutes from Alford. The cottages were converted from original cattle stalls belonging to the dairy farm. They have been furnished to the highest standard whilst maintaining original features and character of the buildings. There is ample parking in the grounds.
There is a private south facing courtyard garden for exclusive use of guests which is equipped with seating and barbecues. Each cottage has a selection of games and books as well as Wi-fi, TV, DVD player and hi-fi systems.
The Cow Shed – a two bedroomed cottage with one double and one twin bedded room and a family bathroom with shower over bath. We can add bunk beds to the twin room so the cottage will sleep 5 people. The open plan living area overlooks the courtyard garden and the paddock to the rear.
The Dairy – also has two bedrooms, one double bedded and one twin bedded. Bunk beds in the twin room enables the cottage to sleep 5. The family bathroom has a bath and separate shower with wheelchair access. The open plan lounge looks on to the courtyard garden.
Small children and babies are welcome. Cots and a high chair available on request.
